In order to reach the main objective of the project, the partnership will create and develop two Intellectual Outputs specifically designed for 10-14 y.o. pupils to enhance their interest in STEAM topics and Moral Education.
O1: Decision-making video gameA tool where children will solve moral dilemmas related to STEAM themes, fueled with facts and questions requiring pupils’ choices aimed at collecting value-points. Video games putting players in the role of decision-makers push learners through hard challenges, engaging them in experimenting different ways of learning and thinking.
|
O2: Encyclopaedia of valuesAn innovative and versatile manual that will consist in a list of values with description, tailored to pupils’ understanding, and in a collection of teaching materials useful for teachers when creating lesson plans and structured based on the principles of spiral and concentricity. The materials available will be based upon the research conducted in the three countries involved, and will take into account the recommendations of pupils, teachers and researchers, i.e. based on a common European approach.

What's going on in the project?
Moralsteam Multiplier EventOn 24th October 2022, the MORALSTEAM conference was held, where national and international participants got to know the project outcomes (the video game, the Encyclopedia of values and the research results) and how to access and reuse them in their educational practices. Fruitful discussions emerged in relation to the use of games in education and the importance to foster moral and virtue education in the National curriculum.
|
Final research resultsThe game testing phase into the partner countries allowed over 600 children aged 10-14 to play the game and give the project partners their feedback. The research allowed the partners to investigate the potential effectiveness, the usability and user satisfaction in playing the game. The overall results showed a highly positive outcome and the likelihood the game will be used and re-used by teachers for moral dilemmas learning and value acquisition in the classroom.
